About Us
Started in 1982 as Car Parts & Services by Richard Taylor and George Vincent, as a unique experiment at the time, a parts store attached to a service center. Taylor was the owner of Car Parts Unlimited and Big George (as we all know him) was top line tech at a local MOPAR dealer. After about four years, due to parking and showroom traffic, the parts store was closed. At that time Big George bought the building, and rented out the front space, and Unlimited Service was born.
Having been a factory trained tech for so many years, Big George understood the need as well as the difficulty in obtaining quality updates for himself and his people. Manufacturers traditionally don't want to share knowledge with what is known as the aftermarket. They would like all you drivers to have to come to them and pay the exorbitant prices they charge.
With astute equipment purchases and access to factory training, Unlimited Service is able to not only keep up, but also surpass some factory facilities. We try to repair your vehicle without the traditional three or four or more visits back to the shop, that the dealers are known for. And almost always at extra charges!
Twenty some years later, the front of the building became empty as the long time renter closed up shop. Rather than rent it out again, Big George saw an opportunity. By moving the service counter, parts room, and diagnostic center, the shop itself gained one more stall, and the computers gained a clean environment. We now have a nice size waiting room with TV, stereo, refreshments, as well as a PC with access to the high speed internet for our customers.
Why be Certified?
Finding a good auto repair facility is always a concern, especially when the unexpected happens. One important thing to remember is to look for ASE Certification.
ASE-certified automotive technicians and other service professionals can be identified in several ways. The most obvious is to look for the ASE sign on the facility. Once inside, most establishments proudly display the ASE certificates earned by their technicians in their office or waiting room. Finally, the technicians may be wearing an ASE patch on the shoulder of their uniform. All ASE-certified professionals are proud of their achievement and are more than willing to show you their credentials.
ASE has years of experience helping the automotive industry verify the skills and knowledge of the technicians working at dealerships, independent repair shops, collision shops, franchises, fleets, and more. Car owners and the service and repair industry regard ASE certification as the standard measure of competency and a guide to quality auto repairs.
